How Long Do Eyelash Extensions Really Last?
With proper care, a full set of eyelash extensions lasts about 2 to 3 weeks before you'll want a fill. Everyone's natural lash cycle is a little different, so some clients come in every two weeks and others stretch closer to four.
Why lashes shed
Extensions are attached to your natural lashes, and natural lashes shed on their own schedule — that's normal and healthy. As each natural lash completes its cycle, the extension goes with it. A little daily shedding is expected; what you want to avoid is early shedding caused by how the lashes are treated.
What makes extensions fall out early
- Oil-based products around the eyes
- Sleeping face-down on your lashes
- Picking, rubbing, or pulling at them
- Skipping your daily cleanse
How to make them last
Cleanse your lashes daily with a lash-safe cleanser, brush them out with a spoolie, and sleep on your back when you can. Book your fill before things get sparse — around the two to three week mark — and your set will always look full.
