How Much Do Eyelash Extensions Cost in San Diego?

It is the first thing almost everyone asks, and most lash studios make you fill out a form to find out. So here it is, plainly.

At Kat Eye Studios in San Diego, a full set of eyelash extensions runs $160 to $350 depending on the style you choose. Fills run $65 to $150 depending on the style and how long it has been since your last visit.

Below is the whole menu, plus what actually moves the price up or down.

Full set prices

| Full set | Price | Time | |---|---|---| | Half volume set | $160 | 1 hr 30 min | | Classic full set | $200 | 2 hr 15 min | | Hybrid full set | $200 | 2 hr 30 min | | Volume full set | $250 | 2 hr 30 min | | Mega volume full set | $350 | 3 hr |

Fill prices

Fills are priced by how long you waited. The longer you go, the more lashes have shed, and the more time it takes to bring the set back.

| Style | 1 week | 2 week | 3 week | |---|---|---|---| | Classic | $65 | $105 | $115 | | Hybrid | $75 | $110 | $115 | | Volume | $75 | $115 | $125 | | Mega volume | n/a | $120 | $150 |

Lash removal is $35 if you ever want to take a set off.

What makes one set cost more than another

The price is really about two things: how many lashes go on, and how long it takes to place them.

Classic

One extension on one natural lash. Clean, natural, mascara-without-the-mascara. If you have a good amount of natural lash to work with, classic looks beautiful and takes the least time.

Hybrid

A mix of classic lashes and small handmade fans. You get more texture and a little more fullness without going full drama. It takes a bit longer to place, which is why the time is longer even though the price matches classic.

Volume

Handmade fans of several very fine lashes on each natural lash. Softer, fluffier, and much fuller. This is the one to ask about if your natural lashes are fine or sparse, because fans give fullness without weighing anything down.

Mega volume

The biggest, fluffiest option, and the longest appointment at three hours. If you want people to notice from across the room, this is it.

Not sure which one is you? That is what the consult is for. Kat maps your eye shape and talks through what you actually want before a single lash goes on.

Why fills matter more than the full set price

Here is the part that changes your real cost. A full set is a one time number. Fills are what you actually live with.

Your natural lashes shed on their own cycle, and each extension goes with the lash it is attached to. Come in at two weeks and there is less to rebuild, so you pay less. Wait past three weeks and the set has thinned out enough that you may need a new full set instead.

If you want the math: a classic set at $200 plus a two week fill at $105 every couple of weeks is a very different budget than a mega volume set at $350 with $120 fills. Pick the style you can happily maintain, not just the one that looks best in the chair.

More on that here: how long eyelash extensions really last.

What you are paying for

A set of lashes is a few hours of one person's full attention, working millimeters from your eye. At Kat Eye Studios you are booking with Kat herself. She is a licensed esthetician in the State of California, she has run this studio in Bay Park since 2019, and she teaches classic and volume technique to other lash artists.

That last part is worth sitting with. The person doing your lashes is the person other lash techs come to learn from.

Do cheaper lashes exist in San Diego?

Yes. You will find full sets advertised well under $100 around town, usually with whichever artist is free that day and a promo attached.

That can work fine for some people. Just know what changes: who is doing the work, how much time they have with you, and whether anyone looked at your eye shape before starting. Lash extensions sit on your face for weeks. It is worth asking who is applying them.

Frequently asked questions

Do you charge extra for longer or thicker lashes? No. The price is set by the style you pick, not by length. Kat will tell you what length your natural lashes can carry comfortably.

How much should I budget per month? Most clients come in every two to three weeks. Take your fill price and double it for a rough monthly number.

Can I get lashes and a spray tan in the same visit? Yes, and a lot of people do before a wedding or a trip. See spray tans for pricing.
